Y'know, we all get taught about "What are we here for? What are we doing?" It's like, y'know, everybody has highs and lows A low time for me, just remember Busted up with the wife Come out here, startin' over Just feelin' bad Didn't care for a number of years Just doin' all the drugs I could do Do everything I could do wrong, I did it If it was illegal, immoral, or fattening, I was an expert at it Got runnin' with a guy, met up in a motel room one night And I was tradin' him some drugs I always made myself a deal, that uh I wouldn't stick a needle in myself But I'd let somebody else So, we're sittin' there, we're firin' it up And he, finally, he hooked me up a little too good I went over and sat down, and uh, all of a sudden Legs started kickin', heart started poundin', I knew I OD'd I went in there, wantin' to die, I just really did Then in the middle of all that, I just heard this voice Just tells me, goes, "Be calm" And, just as well as I had just heard myself say it And all of a sudden it went away I wanted to die, didn't die that night So I must be around for a reason, y'know Gotta be here for something Everything's on a wheel man, goes around It's just part of the cycle
